Wondering what to wear to mother’s day brunch and dinner? You’ve come to the right place! As the saying goes “A mother is your first friend, your best friend, your forever friend”.

In my mid-20s, I finally figured out the true meaning of this quote. So whether you are the mother, the daughter, or BOTH, mother’s day is always worth celebrating.

It’s a beautiful moment for us to take a step back and appreciate this special lady in our life.

To fully enjoy this big day, paying extra effort to your look is a no-brainer.

Below I’ve gathered 18 mother’s day brunch or dinner outfit ideas from casual to dressy along with some tips and tricks.

Enjoy!

1. What to wear on mother’s day? Floral dress

As we all know, Mother’s Day and flowers are inseparable.

Besides gifting your mom the signature Carnation, wearing a floral dress as a matching set is such a lovely idea.

These billowy, feminine dress just vibes with this special day.

Some ladies may think the printed dress will make them appear to be bigger. Well, not at all!

Instead of picking the color-contrasting and big floral pattern, go for the extensive, small floral prints with a pastel hue.

That way, it just softens the prints and minimizes the exaggerating effect.

The dress from Amazon below is a forgiving one indeed!

2. Tunic dress as another flattering and comfy look

As for the ladies who want to feel the coziest for mother’s day brunch, you can’t go wrong with a tunic dress.

They look just comfy yet sophisticated at the same time.

My mum is now in her mid-50s and she wears her tunic dress like her uniform.

They just look universally flattering on every age group – such a gem.

Speaking of the color of mother’s Day, pastel shades like lavender and cream-yellow just evoke a sense of softness and tender affection.

But of all, the inviting floral pink hue is the signature one, symbolizing the mother’s unending love.

So if you want to be more festive, throw on a dusty pink blazer or a pastel shade blouse just add a touch of darling to your look.

For the girls who gravitate towards dark color outfits, you can always add a pink bag as a pop of fun, it’s equally flattering.

If it’s chilly out, throw on a poncho as a top and pair it up with jeans just looks like you’ve given thought to your look.

For the most figure-flattering shape, I’d say the diagonal one which is high on one hip dropping diagonally lower to the opposite thigh.

It just shows off the legs beautifully and creates a shape.

Together with a daily Y-necklace, this look is absolutely womanly.

5. Peplum dress to hide the belly perfectly

So you’ve booked a fancy restaurant for brunch, ready to surprise your mum and take some aesthetic photoshoots together.

The plan is all perfect except for the fact that you need a belly-forgiving dress that makes you look perfect.

Well, I’d say throw on a peplum dress and you’ll never feel anything missing from your look.

The extra stripe of fabric just conceals the food baby perfectly and makes you feel the best.

While many of the peplum dress looks formal, I’ve found a cute one from Amazon that is high quality and with short sleeves.

While black is failproof, I will choose the classic houndstooth pattern. It just looks so classy and expensive-looking! Check this out!
