I don’t particularly love black but whenever I am in rush to work, I just realized I wear all black all the time!

If that’s you, my tip is at least to choose a light colour item as a highlight to spice up the look.
One common way to look more stylish is by matching your bag and the shoes together.
For example, if you are wearing a black V-neck top and a pair of black flared pants, try to complete your outfit with a lovely beige bag and a pair of cream pointed heels.
That won’t take you so much time but everyone will think you are intentional about your outfit and this is also the secret to looking classy and high fashion!
2. WEAR OVERSIZE IN A SUBTLE WAY
You may think “Wait…what? I don’t think we suppose to wear oversized for work?”
If oversize outfits mean wearing somehow baggy and lousy, that’s for sure a No-no.
However, that doesn’t mean you can’t wear all kinds of oversized. The rule to wear oversized in the workplace is don’t do it hardcore.
What I am trying to say is if you wear oversized for the top, wear fitted pants for your bottom to balance out the overwhelmingness.
For me, outerwear like a blazer is always a good place to start.
With a pair of silk pants and loafers, you just look effortlessly chic yet polished in oversized!
So ladies, don’t limit yourself! There’s always room to be more creative!
3. EMBRACE WHITE FOR AN ELEGANT LOOK
White is such an underrated colour these days. In a world where black, dark blue and brown are the most-worn colours for working ladies these days, wearing white is such a refreshing way to express our character.
Not only does this help you stand out from the crowd, but white is also a colour that makes you look more classy and polished naturally.
A vivid example is if you change your blue skinny jeans to white jeans, it just somehow looks more refined and high fashion.
White is definitely a happy colour that makes you feel good!
If pure white is hard to carry, try other off-white shades like cream and beige!
As they are in a warm tone, that will make you look more approachable than bright white.
4. WEAR A STRUCTURED BAG WHEN IN DOUBT
This tip is kind of personal but I strongly advise you wear a structured bag for work.
A bag can easily reflect our style, I just find myself looking slightly more confident and feeling good when my bag is on point.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the boho bag and tote bag also! But I will wear these cuties to the weekend. I personally love wearing the quilted bag for work, it just brings a dash of sophistication to the look!
I also prefer to handle bags more than shoulder bags, which just subconsciously straighten my back and help me maintain a good posture!
5. WEAR A BELT TO ENRICH THE LOOK
I know it sounds so obvious but let’s be real, we always forget to add a belt to complete the look.
Sometimes, simply wearing the top and dressing in solids can look slightly boring.
Adding a belt just brings some flavour to the look and makes you look more refined.
When it comes to the types of belts, the styles can be endless.
Besides the trendy Gucci belt, we also have the no-buckle belt, clincher belts or even corset belt.
Not only does it looks fashionable, but it can also accentuate your waist and that truly flatters your figure!
But of all types of belts, my all-time favourite is always the lovely belt chain! If you wonder how to look expensive in a plain midi dress, adding an elegant belt chain is the no-fail way!
6. WEAR A BOAT NECK INSTEAD OF OFF SHOULDER
Wearing an off-shoulder dress in the workplace is a big no-no as it’s just too youthful and revealing.
However, does that mean you can only wear the high-neck or V-neck top?
Not at all.
For the neckline like the square neck top and boat neck top, they look professional and smart but at the same time it shows off our collarbone, which is truly flattering.
7. EXPLORE A WIDER RANGE OF FABRICS
If you want to look fashionable in office wear, let’s start by embracing a wider range of fabrics!
Besides cotton, there are countless texture and finish you can choose from.
Some of my favourites include tweed, chiffon, silk and satin.
Regardless of the design, the fabrics themselves already look stunning and classy.
During wintertime, wearing cashmere to work is such a no-brainer way to keep yourself sleek and smart.
Thanks to its incredible warm-keeping materials, you don’t have to wear an extra 3 layers of coat to work!
8. WEAR A COWL TOP INSTEAD OF A TURTLENECK
For a long time, the turtleneck is regarded as one of the most worn tops for work.
It’s simple yet smart. However, not everyone has a small face and long neck to pull off these high-neck tops.
As a girl with a chubby face, my face appears to be even bigger in a turtleneck and that’s definitely not something I want.
Instead, I wear the cowl top these days and I wish I knew how flattering it is sooner!
Whenever I wear a satin cowl top, I can always get compliments from my friends.
The cowl top just brings an air of softness to the formal working look!
9. OPT FOR POINTED FLATS OR HEELS INSTEAD OF ROUND TOE
If I have to dress for work, I will always avoid the round toe as that can look slightly too juvenile and cute.
Instead, I will always wear pointed flats or heels. Not only does that make me look more put together, but the V vamp also helps elongate my legs more and make my legs appear thinner and longer!
I know some ladies may think pointed flats aren’t the most comfortable shoes to wear.
For me, I do feel great in pointed shoes but if you are not used to it, let’s try the square-toe shoes!
They are truly one of the hottest trends this year and I can see why – comfy but in an edgy way!
10. INVEST IN A HIGH-QUALITY OUTERWEAR
Here’s the awkward thing about ladies (including me), we are willing to spend thousands for a mini bag that can’t fit even the iPhone.
But when it comes to pricy outerwear, we hesitate.
If you can relate to that, you can definitely not alone.
But seriously ladies, this is the thing we have to change.
During the autumn and winter times, we always wear the same outerwear over and over again and it’s important to invest in a high-quality coat to work.
As the saying goes “The devil is in details.”
People can tell if your coat is nicely crafted or not.
Plus, the best thing about wearing a great coat is you can just wear the HeatTech top and leggings underneath but you can still look polished!
So ladies, investing in your coat can truly make your life easier!
11. EMBRACE MONOCHROME IN A LOWKEY KEY
Last but not least, of course, we have to talk about monochrome style as one of the fashion tips for working ladies!
Tone-on-tone styling can be really time-saving when you are rushing to work. But still, we have to pay attention to the colours we choose.
Bright, high-saturation colours like pink, yellow or green can look too flamboyant for work.
Instead, I will always go for classic or neutral colours like white, cream, beige, grey and more.
Not only this can make you look taller and slimmer visually, it just makes you look more high fashion.
But always remember, don’t pair the exact same hues all the time as that can make you look rigid.
Instead, get creative with different tints of the same colour to enrich your look!
