What to REALLY wear to shopping? 18 summer + winter looks!

Wondering what to wear to go shopping in summer and winter? You’ve come to the right place!

While this question seems easy, IT’S NOT.

As a shopaholic myself, I can tell you what your dress DO makes and break your Saturday shopping mood.

To ensure you have the best mall shopping day with your boyfriend and friends in summer & winter, below I’ve gathered 8 shopping mall day outfit ideas together with some dos and donts.

Enjoy my ladies!

1. What to wear to go shopping in summer?

Shopping on summer days is always stress-free. All you need is to wear a comfy dress and you are good to go!

That said, if you are going to the mall, better bring a light jacket or cardigan – it can be chilly indoors.

For footwear, slip-on shoes are the best. Trust me, don’t pick the tennis sneakers – that is super annoying when you try to tie the shoelaces every 10 minutes.

And for the petite girls out there, please do not torture yourself with high heels.

If you want an extra few inches, high platform heels or espadrilles wedges are always great options in summer.

My other favourite – a high-quality linen dress!

This form-fitting linen dress just scream elegant in the most effortlessly way.

2. What to wear shopping at the mall with friends & boyfriend?

If you are young, high chance you still find those designer shops intimidating.

Trust me, you are not alone!

Whenever I dress laidback, I feel like I am not put together enough to enter the store and fear the resting bitch face sales will just ignore me.

It’s all about your level of confidence.

That said, I will always wear a structured blazer whenever I need a sleek boss lady feel.

Together with a nice blouse, jeans, and loafers, this is how I dress comfy yet polished for the shopping day.

And of course, always ask your stylish friends to go with you!

3. What to wear to go shopping mall in winter

For a winter dress hunting day, again, make sure you wear something easy to take on and off.

That way, you don’t have to spend an extra 10 minutes battling with your tight faux leather leggings in the fitting room.

As a girl with thick thighs, the struggle is real.

Trust me this alone will totally ruin your shopping mood.

For me, I’ll always wear a one-piece loose-cut sweater dress for a fitting. All you need is to take off the belt and you are good to go!

4. Avoid too baggy clothes for a winter shopping day

I know that’s a brainer, but seriously, avoid wearing a baggy heavy coat in the winter.

The exhaustion is real when you carry a 2-pound maxi coat for a good few hours.

5. Layer up yourself with the thermal garment in winter

Instead, get yourself a thermal garment and a sleeveless puffer jacket to keep yourself warm yet carefree.

For a fail-proof look, go for a natural fabric like cashmere that can REALLY keep the warmth.

Together with a sleek shacket, this is how you stay lightweight on chilly days.

6. What shoes to wear shopping in winter

Picking the right shoes for winter shopping days can be a little bit tricky.

As a rule of thumb, avoid wearing thigh-high boots that are hard to wear on and off.

As a perfect alternative, I’d stick with my faux fur-lined moccasin slipper shoes.

They are THE BEST.

This is so random… BUT

hey ladies, why not quickly do an affirmation and feel instantly better?

This new year, I’m trying not only to share fashion tips but come up with ways to instill body positivity in all women who are reading my articles – aka YOU!

Instead of just reading it, say it loud or murmur the quotes (if you are in public) to maximize the effect.

Ready? Here we go.

I love my body. She is my forever home and sanctuary.

Sassy isn’t a shape, it’s an attitude.

Work out because I love my body – not because I hate it.

I can love myself and change my body at the same time. No guilt about that.

It is completely normal to have tummy rolls. I come to realize that social media isn’t showing the reality… at all.

My happiest moments in life had nothing to do with the way my body looked.

I don’t have to be pretty like her, I can be pretty like …ME.

I AM perfect imperfection.

What are your thoughts on that? I hope that makes you feel better (as you deserved).

Please help me pass the body positivity message in your community. #womenhelpwomen

For a successful shopping day, high chance you will carry a few shopping bags around your arms so I’d say keep your belonging to the minimum just in case.

As your winter outfit may already add some bulk to your look already, go for a handy shoulder bag or crossbody bag to keep your hands free.

8. Be mindful of your hairstyle

Planning to do a boss lady type of low bun for your bestie’s shopping day?

Hang on sis.

Let’s not forget you will need to take on and off your clothes all the time.

If you are wearing the high neck top on winter days, your hairstyle is bound to be ruined.

Also, avoid all the dangling earrings. They hurt SO BAD when you change your clothes.
