Plus, pulling off the bold red dress exude a sense of confidence and sassiness which is absolutely perfect for ValentineDay.

And guess what, as a high saturation sharp hue, it looks extra amazing on dark skin due to the nice color contrast and brightens up your look as a whole.

So ladies, if you want to bring an A-game and enjoy a wild night, definitely go for a classic red dress with nude heels.

2. Play with silk for a glamourous Valentines Day look

The second tip, I’d say play with textures. If you want to dress up for Valentine’s day, let’s not wear the cotton dress like your errands day.

Think shimmering yet comfy fabric like silk to glam up your style and you’ll be bound to feel fabulous.

Whenever I wear this darling, I just feel so spoiled and feminine.

By the way, your partner will probably stop touching you! This fabric is incredibly smooth and shall I say – touchable.

That said, while the silk dress is expensive for a good reason, I’ll go for the satin dress instead – it is just way more affordable with a similar effect!

3. Pick a flattering neckline for Valentine’s Day

The third tip is the neckline. As a girl with chubby cheeks, I pay attention to the necklines and find them incredibly helpful.

I’d definitely avoid the round neckline as that makes my face looks even rounder.

Instead, the V neck and off-shoulder neck can elongate the face and neck area and makes us look slimmer visually.

So yes, if you want to look sexy without showing too much, a delicate off-shoulder dress will definitely serve you right.

4. Make a statement glitter dress on Valentine’s Day

Whether you’re 18 or 42, a sequin dress is never too much for you.

I mean, what else can make you look more festive and dazzling than a midi skirt with sequin layers?

While the head-to-toe sequin dress can be more tricky to handle, you can always opt for the skirt and dark hues to balance out the boldness.

Again, the glitter just looks flattering to dark skin and my favorite piece is an all-black sequin bodycon dress.

Whenever I wear it, I receive compliments.

5. Keep classy and casual in a sweater dress

Alright ladies, let’s get practical.

As Valentine’s Day is more on the chilly side, you may want something that can give you that extra warmth.

If you aren’t a fan of wearing a sleeveless dress and a big coat, the sweater dress is another lovely choice.

That said, I will swap out the A-line sweater dress for the body-hugging one for a sophisticated, womanly style.

To echos the festive vibes, a nude pink sweater dress with a nice clutch just makes you look extra dazzling.

7. Stay cute with a French beret

Wanna look cute on Valentine’s Day? Let’s not forget to finish up your winter look with a nice hat.

I love all sorts of hats but a beret is my favorite really. To contour my face, I will wear it slant to elongate my face.

Some girls may wonder what hairstyle looks best with a beret. That really depends.

I love putting my face to one side so I can open up my face a little bit.

I think that’s a failproof way to look good – try it out!

8. When in doubt, go for a co-ord set

If you want to look flattering with minimal effort on Valentine’s Day, throw yourself a nice co-ord set and you’ll never feel anything missing from your outfit.

You can call it lazy but I will call it smart!

A Chanel-inspired tweed jacket and skirt co-ord set with thigh-high boots? This combo is unbeatable.

For the girls who want to maximize the leg slimming effect, switch out the bodycon skirt for the fishtail skirt.

The flared fabrics can always make our legs appear slimmer in comparison. It’s such an underrated tip, I just seldom heard people talking about that.

Or else, go bold with a baby pink bodycon set that screams “I’ve got a style and I KNOW it”. How’s that?

9. Tight high boots are the hottest choice on valentines Day

Of course, thigh-high and knee-high boots for winter.

As a petite girl, this is probably the most flattering pair of shoes I’ve owned. I will choose the pointy-toe design to maximize the contouring effect.

The charm about high boots is it just goes well with EVERYTHING.

Whether you want to stay classy with a sweater dress or spice it up with a boyfriend’s white shirt, it just plays tricks.
