5 looks in 2024! How to wear harem pants for plus size ladies?

To all my plus-size ladies, can we take a moment to adore harem pants first?

Not only it’s fun and relaxing to wear, the best part is we don’t have to feel suffocated after a big meal!

With their unique and high waist design, these are my ultimate pants to go for when my stomach is feeling bloated.

While people may think it’s hard to rock harem pants for plus size, it’s certainly not the case!

After some trial and error, I’ve finally come up with 5 creative tips on how to wear harem pants for plus size, enjoy!

DISCLAIMER:

The truth is, we are all perfect imperfections.

You want to learn these outfit hacks ONLY if you feel like it but are not pressured by others. Remember, we never have the need to “fix” our bodies!

You don’t have to be pretty like HER, you can be pretty like YOU.

And believe it or not, there’s still NOT ENOUGH plus-size content around Pinterest and other places on the internet …at all.

So ladies, before reading the tips, please help pin the pin below & support plus-size ladies ♥!

1. AVOID BIG PRINTS IN HAREM PANTS

There’s a great variety of patterns when it comes to harem pants. While big prints are really cute and vibrant, it’s a BIG NONO.

Big patterns will enlarge your lower body figure visually and make your lower belly looks obvious even if it’s high-waisted.

Instead, always choose pants with small and lowkey prints or no prints at all.

Not only does this minimize the enlarging effect on our lower body, but it also looks effortlessly chic!

Oh and by the way, if you’ve come across harem pants with vertical stripes, buy them!

This helps elongate your legs and balance the bulkiness of the bottom.

2. BE AWARE OF THE FABRIC OF YOUR HAREM PANTS

Ladies, fabric matters a lot.

Despite the cutting, choosing the right fabric can help us look slimmer.

Below are the fabrics that you may want to take close attention to.

1. TIE-DYE:

While it is fun to wear and even DIY, tie-dye pants are often not high quality and it will get saggy easily

2. COTTON:

I recommend picking high-quality and thick cotton. Not only ensures the shape of pants looks more structured, but they can also hug our tummy seamlessly.

For the thin cotton (especially the white harem pants), they can be a little bit see-through, and the thin structure can’t do any good to our hip and belly area, so it’s a nono too.

My Amazon picks: LOFBAZ boho pants

3. SILK/SATIN:

Silk/ satin harem pants are the most flattering fabric for the plus size!

Not only it’s light and cool to wear during summer days, but its lightness also balances out the bulkiness of the pants and makes our bottom looks smaller visually.

Added to this, silk is truly classy to wear, it’s very versatile to wear silk harem pants with any different clothes!

Of course, there are more than 3 fabric options for harem pants!

My point here is always to try out the pants and figure out what fabric looks best on you!

Sometimes we just don’t think that pants suit us, while it can be the cutting problem, in half of the cases it’s about the fabric!

3. WEAR SLIM FIT TOPS AND OFF-SHOULDER TO BALANCE THE BODY FIGURE

How to wear harem pants for plus size ladies

If you don’t want to look like a balloon, please don’t wear a top with puffy sleeves, from my personal painful experience, THAT’S a catastrophe. Period.

We have to smartly pick a combination that flatters our body figure to look slimmer.

In summer, we can always wear a black crop top or a V-neck T-shirt to style with our pants, the slim-cut designs balance the bulkiness of the pants.

As the pants are high-waisted, you should look great on the upper body!

If you want to step up your game, wearing an off-shoulder top will be another great choice.

You will be shocked by how pretty you look with this combination.

Showing the necklines just naturally makes your face look slimmer and shifts people’s attention from the pants to your top.

Plus, off-shoulder is always your best friend when you want to hide your bat wings!

This is so far my most successful outfit with harem pants! Ladies, try it!

Of course, you don’t have to wear black all the time, as long as the color of your top matches the pants, it’s good to go!

But I do suggest keeping the color combination within 3 colors otherwise the look will be a bit all over the place.

❤️ 2024 Update ❤️

I’ve finally started my LTK account @hannahndreams and I just created a post dedicated to plus size baes.

The dresses that I’ve picked tick all the boxes below. (In case you want something extra forgivinggg)

  • ✅ Showcase the feminine neckline
  • ✅ The ruching details hide the belly
  • ✅ Asymmetrical hemline draws the eye upward and elongates the legs visually

I’ve also included my hidden gem – a peplum belt from Walmart. Check out my post here & please follow for more styling tips❤️!

Love you girls!!

4. OPT FOR CHUNKY ACCESSORIES TO BALANCE THE OUTFIT

I usually opt for delicate small accessories but this time, the big chunky statement necklaces can help elevate our look!

With the big pants and light top, visually it feels like the pants are dragging us down and making us appear shorter in some cases.

So always wear some big statement necklace and earrings to put some volume on your top to balance that out.

Again, I would prefer something V-shaped for the necklace to elongate our face and neck a little bit!

5. WEAR V-SHAPED FLATS AND HEELS TO ELONGATE YOUR LEGS VISUALLY

Last but not least, our shoes matter!

I know it’s really comfy to wear sneakers and flats, but if you want to appear taller and slimmer, V-shaped shoes are always better than rounded shoes.

I seldom wear round-toe shoes as I just don’t think they flatter my legs.

On the opposite, with the defined lining, the V shape makes our leg appear longer.

If you want to maximize the effect, you can always pair your shoes with the same or similar color of your pants, which works extremely well, and also it’s fashionable to do so!

Besides flats, heels can help to complete your look flawlessly!

But I don’t really recommend picking the heels with stripes on the ankle, that will make your leg look bigger and that’s not what we want.

This is so random… BUT

hey ladies, why not quickly do an affirmation and feel instantly better?

This new year, I’m trying not only to share fashion tips but come up with ways to instill body positivity in all women who are reading my articles – aka YOU!

Instead of just reading it, say it loud or murmur the quotes (if you are in public) to maximize the effect.

Ready? Here we go.

I love my body. She is my forever home and sanctuary.

Sassy isn’t a shape, it’s an attitude.

Work out because I love my body – not because I hate it.

I can love myself and change my body at the same time. No guilt about that.

It is completely normal to have tummy rolls. I come to realize that social media isn’t showing the reality… at all.

My happiest moments in life had nothing to do with the way my body looked.

I don’t have to be pretty like her, I can be pretty like …ME.

I AM perfect imperfection.

What are your thoughts on that? I hope that makes you feel better (as you deserved).

Please help me pass the body positivity message in your community. #womenhelpwomen
