Wondering what to wear to Dollywood? You’ve come to the right place!
Whether you are 16 or 46, admit it, nothing recharges you more than a theme park day that brings out the inner child in you.
Your feet are sore and swollen but at least your heart is full.
Offering more than 40 thrilling rides, attractions, and dazzling dinner shows, you’re bound to have a blast.
So this begs the question: What to wear to Dollywood all year round?
Ahead, I’ve gathered 18 outfit ideas from summer to winter along with some Dos & don’ts.
Hopefully that you get inspired! Enjoy!
1. What to wear to Dollywood in the summer?
If you visit Dollywood in the summertime, definitely go for something lightweight and breathable as you will be sweating A LOT.
Think of a cotton tank top or a chiffon camisole as a failproof.
But here’s the thing, the indoor area are often air-conditioned and that can be chilly.
So you better wrap a light cardigan around your waist just in case.
Oh, and the last reminder, if you are here for the roller coaster, avoid wearing a short dress.
That will feel so uncomfy when you latch the harness on the seat.
2. Stay cute in an off-shoulder top
Want to dress cute to Dollywood with your bestie? What about an off-shoulder top that goes well with pretty much everything?
Whether you pair this with an A-line denim skirt or windbreaker pants, it just screams youthful and fun.
Below is my handpick off-shoulder top from Amazon. This elastic waist and peplum design can cover the belly area, LOVE.
3. Paper bag shorts are the safe bet
When it comes to pinning down bottoms in hot July, comfort is KEY.
I actually prefer my paper bag shorts way more than jeans. Not only it’s more belly forgiving and less restrictive, but they are also perfect for water games.
After all, fabric like cotton and linen is highly absorbable with water while denim tends to get so heavy.
4. What to wear to Dollywood in June and July?
Want to look cute with minimal effort? Go for a one-piece like a romper.
Featuring the high waist self-tie and loose cut, you’re bound to feel the most carefree in them.
Below, this is a cute romper with functional side pockets and a sleek V-neck, enjoy!
5. What to wear to Dollywood in October fall?
Regardless of the season, you should always go for lightweight clothes to make sure you can survive the whole day.
For fall, a sleek shacket will never disappoint you.
As a perfect blend of the texture of the shirt and jacket, it’s such a perfect layering piece to throw on your hoodie.
Together with the leggings and converse, this look is a 10/10.
6. Dress in LAYERS to Dollywood in December
When the days are really chill out, LAYER UP.
The temperature can be highly contrasting between indoors and outdoors as there are many places you can duck inside in Dollywood.
To avoid overdoing the clothing, ensure you can quickly take off or throw on the clothes accordingly.
For outerwear, I strongly advise going for a lightweight puffer jacket than a classy wool coat that is unavoidably heavy.
To fully enjoy your Dollywood trip, you certainly don’t need this extra weight.
If possible, go for a sleeveless puffer jacket and layer yourself with a thermal garment and turtleneck.
So your hands can move freely when you want to grab some snacks or drink water.
And if you visit Dollywood on a stone-cold day, read the to-bring list below!

7. What shoes to wear to Dollywood?
According to the Dollywood FAQ, footwear without heel straps is NOT permitted on Barnstormer, Sky Rider, Waltzing Swinger, and Wild Eagle.
Of all, pick your comfiest shoes! It’s definitely not good timing to try on new shoes unless you want to burn your feet and ruin the rest of your day.
I once wore a new pair of tennis shoes to Disney and to my surprise, the shoes hurt my arches so bad that I have to go souvenirs shop and bought the Donald duck slippers.

8. Get a roller coaster-friendly hairstyle
If you want to enjoy the ride, stay sleek on your hairstyle.
Some girls may prefer a cute high bun but from my experience, they can easily fall off during the ride. For a safe bet, I’ll go for the fishtail braids or high ponytail.
But really, whether you don’t take the ride, it’s worth it to jazz up your look with a cute hairstyle.
We all know how this can boost our mood in an instant.
9. Keep your hands free with a backpack
So you’ve pinned down your outfit and hairstyles, let’s talk about bags.
If you think it’s cumbersome to bring a bag at all, let’s not forget that can be really helpful.
You know, the jacket, poncho, Spare socks (water rides = Wet socks), sunscreen, snacks… the list can go on and on.
In most cases, the backpack is the best option to keep your hands free. Or else, a sling backpack is a perfect alternative.
This affordable one with aesthetic floral prints is my favorite ♡
10. Stay STRONG in sun protection
Last but not least, go ALL IN in sun protection regardless of the season and I’m serious!
After all, we will be under the sun for basically the whole day so sunglasses and wide beam hats are the essentials.
Trust me, getting sunburnt in Dollywood just can’t be any easier.
If the straw hat is not your thing, go for a cute bucket hat or baseball cap. They look great in every outfit.
