Hey bestie, festival season is HERE and whether you’re heading to Coachella, Lollapalooza, or a local weekend bash, packing can make or break your experience.

You want to look cute, stay comfortable, and actually SURVIVE the porta-potty situation with your dignity intact.
I’ve done the trial and error so you don’t have to—here’s your ultimate music festival packing list, broken down by category.
Let’s get into it and save this post! <3 🎡🎶✨
1. The Outfit Formula
Festival style is all about layering and versatility.

Aim for 2-3 complete outfits per day (one for day, one for evening, and a backup). The winning formula:
- Top: Cropped tanks, band tees, bralettes, mesh tops, flowy blouses
- Bottom: Denim shorts, bike shorts, flowy pants, cargo shorts, maxi skirts
- Layer: Kimono, mesh cover-up, denim jacket, lightweight flannel, puffer vest
- Footwear: COMFORTABLE sneakers or combat boots that are already broken in
✨ Tip: Choose pieces that mix and match. A neutral base (black shorts, white tee) with colorful layers and accessories means fewer items, more outfit combos.
2. The Non-Negotiables
Comfortable shoes. This is the #1 rule. You’ll walk 10-20k steps a day. Break in boots beforehand. Bring TWO pairs so you can alternate.
A light jacket or hoodie. It gets COLD at night. A packable puffer or denim jacket saves the evening.
Swimsuit. If there’s a pool, water feature, or just a hose-down situation, you’ll want one.
One “fashion” piece. That fringe vest, sequin top, or flower crown that makes you feel like the main character.

3. ACCESSORIES – Function Meets Fashion
Sunglasses. Bring 2 pairs. You WILL lose or break one.
Hat. Baseball cap or wide-brimmed—sun protection is real.
Bandana or scarf. Wet it to cool down, tie it as a headband, use as a mask for dust.
Belt bag or crossbody. Hands-free is the only way. Look for anti-theft features.
Jewelry. Keep it minimal. Chunky earrings or layered necklaces are cute but leave expensive pieces at home.
Temporary tattoos or body gems. Fun, photo-ready, zero commitment.

4. TOILETRIES – The Real MVP List
Skincare & Body:
- Face wipes (for quick refresh)
- Micellar water + cotton pads
- Moisturizer with SPF
- Lip balm with SPF
- Body sunscreen (spray is easiest for reapplying)
- Aloe vera (for inevitable sunburn)
- Hand sanitizer (bring a BIG bottle)
- Baby wipes (for everything—face, body, emergency showers)
- Dry shampoo
- Deodorant
- Toothbrush + toothpaste
- Tampons/pads (even if you’re not due—someone will need them)
- Small mirror
✨ Pro tip: Decant everything into travel sizes. No glass bottles.
Makeup (if you’re wearing any):
Bring minimal—you’ll be hot, sweaty, and not reaching for a full face
Tinted moisturizer with SPF
Waterproof mascara (sweat happens)
Cream blush (doubles as lip stain)
Setting spray!! (lowkey important esp you wanna look good all the time <3)

5. GEAR & TECH
- Portable charger. Multiple if possible. Festival outlets are a myth.
- Phone charging cable. Bring extras.
- Power bank. A must-have.
- Reusable water bottle or hydration pack. Many festivals have free water refill stations. CamelBaks are festival gold.
- Headlamp or small flashlight. For porta-potty trips at night.
- Earplugs. For sleeping near loud stages AND protecting your ears at shows.
- Portable fan. Battery-operated or handheld. You’ll thank me.

6. CAMPING SPECIFICS (if applicable)
Tent (test setup BEFORE you go)
Sleeping bag and sleeping pad

Camping chair
Cooler (with ice packs)
Trash bags (leave no trace)
Duct tape (fixes everything)
First aid kit (bandaids, antiseptic, pain relievers, blister patches)
Rain poncho (weather is unpredictable)
7. SURVIVAL ITEMS – Don’t Skip These
- Sunscreen. Reapply constantly. You will burn.
- Electrolyte packets or powder. Add to water. Hangovers and dehydration are real.
- Snacks. Protein bars, nuts, fruit, anything that doesn’t need refrigeration.
- Cash. Cards can fail, networks get overloaded. Small bills are best.
- ID and festival wristband. Keep secure and accessible.
- Portable ashtray. If you smoke, pack one out.
- Blister patches or moleskin. For feet emergencies.
- Pain relievers. Advil, Tylenol—trust me.
- Ziploc bags. For phone protection, snacks, wet clothes, everything.
❤️For my baddies who wanna spoil themselves: ❤️
For the baddies who wanna spoil themselves but don’t wanna break the bank… check out the bags babies below❤️
From my backend data, almost every 3 days someone from LTK and my email list will buy these two bags lol (Different sizes - some prefer mini some prefer the normal).
It's always so fun see from data to know what you girls prefer!
8. WHAT TO LEAVE AT HOME
Expensive jewelry. It will get lost or stolen.
Anything you’d cry over ruining. Festivals are dusty, muddy, and chaotic.
Heavy makeup palettes. You won’t use them.
Too many shoes. Pick 2-3 max.
Brand new anything. Break in shoes, test tents, know your gear beforehand.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
A music festival is about the music, the memories, and the magic—but a good packing list makes all of that possible without stress.
Pack smart, prioritize comfort and safety, and leave room for spontaneity. The best festival outfits are the ones you feel confident in, not the ones that left you with blisters and a sunburn.
Now go forth and make core memories. 🎶✨🌞
