Okayyyy, we’ve all done the High Line and the Top of the Rock. Iconic, fine.

But New York has this magic where the second you step off the postcard trail, you find the real gold.

Here’s my running list of under-the-radar gems that make me fall in love with the city all over again. No queues, no giant souvenir shops—just pure, unfiltered NYC vibes!
1. Get Lost in the Roosevelt Island Tram at Dusk
Everyone talks about the Staten Island Ferry (free! view!), but for $2.90, you can take the tram from 59th and 2nd over to Roosevelt Island.
Go just before sunset.
The views of the East River and the skyline lighting up are cinematic, and you feel like you’re floating.
It’s a quiet little escape with a weird, small-town-in-the-sky feel.
💎 My move: Bring a coffee, get a window spot, and just watch the city turn on its lights.
2. Have a “Speakeasy” Lunch in a Dim Sum Cart Palace
Skip the overcrowded spots in Flushing.

Head to Jing Fong in Chinatown (the original, massive one on Elizabeth Street is back, but feels like a locals’ secret).
You ride an escalator into a giant, buzzing banquet hall where carts of steaming dumplings weave between tables.
Point at what you want. It’s chaotic, delicious, and the best $20 feast you’ll ever have.
*💎 My move: Go with 2+ people so you can try more plates. The shrimp rice rolls are non-negotiable.*
If you are reading this blog post till now, there’s one thing for sure…
You have good taste! <3 If you approve of some of these looks, please kindly pin or share some of these outfits so many tasteful fashion babes can come across this outfit inspo, thanks pretty! ❤️

And…it would truly mean the world to me if you stay until the very end. ❤️
3. Walk the “Little Red Lighthouse” Trail Under the GWB
Yes, there’s a tiny, adorable lighthouse in Manhattan.

Tucked under the George Washington Bridge in Fort Washington Park, it’s from a children’s book.
The walk along the Hudson there is stunning, with epic bridge views, and it feels like you’ve discovered a fairy tale hideout.
💎 My move: Pack a picnic. The grassy area right there is perfect, and you’ll have maybe five other people around.
4. Catch a Silent Disco in Prospect Park
Summer in NYC means silent discos in the parks.

Companies like Silent Frisco host them. You get headphones, choose your channel (hip-hop, 80s, house), and dance under the trees with a skyline view.
It’s the most joyfully unhinged and wholesome thing—watching everyone sing their hearts out to different songs.
💎 My move: Check their Instagram for pop-up dates. Go with a group for maximum silly fun.

5. Browse the Strand Bookstore’s $1-2 Outdoor Shelves
The Strand is famous, but did you know about the outdoor racks on Broadway and 12th?

They’re not just junk—I’ve found incredible art books, vintage novels, and random poetry collections for literal dollars.
It’s a treasure hunt with the best backdrop.
💎 My move: Set a loose goal (“a weird cookbook” or “a green-covered novel”). It makes it more fun.
6. Take the Waterfront Walk from DUMBO to Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Secret Garden
Everyone goes to Pebble Beach for the bridge photo.
Instead, start at Jane’s Carousel and walk south along the water.
You’ll pass the old warehouses, then find the Brooklyn Bridge Park Gardens—a hidden, tiered garden with wildflowers and quiet benches. It feels like a serene secret garden with a million-dollar view.
💎 My move: Do this on a weekday morning. You’ll have the path mostly to yourself.
❤️For my baddies who wanna spoil themselves: ❤️
For the baddies who wanna spoil themselves but don’t wanna break the bank… check out the bags babies below❤️
From my backend data, almost every 3 days someone from LTK and my email list will buy these two bags lol (Different sizes - some prefer mini some prefer the normal).
It's always so fun see from data to know what you girls prefer!
7. Explore the Green-Wood Cemetery (Not Creepy, I Promise)
This isn’t morbid; it’s breathtaking.
It’s a massive, historic cemetery in Brooklyn with hills, ponds, Gothic mausoleums, and a view of the Statue of Liberty.
They have twilight tours, but even just wandering feels peaceful and strangely uplifting.
💎 My move: Rent a bike at the entrance. It’s huge, and cycling the winding paths is gorgeous.
8. Hunt for Vintage Treasures at the LIC Flea & Food (Queens)
Smellier than Brooklyn Flea, way more authentic, and tucked under an off-ramp in Long Island City.
It’s a wild mix of vintage clothing, old records, amazing Filipino street food, and random furniture.
You’ll find things here you’d never see in Manhattan.
💎 My move: Go hungry. The food stalls are the real highlight—get the lumpia.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
The real trick? NYC rewards the curious.
Turn down a random side street. Pop into that basement-level bookstore.
Follow the smell of fresh bread.
The postcard stuff is great for your first time, but this? This is how you make the city yours.
Now text me which one you’re trying first. I might just meet you there. ☕️✨
